Using the Bulletin Board Area of the Dashboard Screen

The Bulletin Board area of the Dashboard screen displays the posts shared with the current user. To add a post, see the article "Using the Post Area of the Dashboard Screen."

Each post shows who posted the message, the date and time it was posted, the type of recipients, and the message. If the post is pinned to the Bulletin Board area, then a Pin icon is displayed in the upper-right corner. Pinned posts are highlighted and listed at the top of the Bulletin Board area. All other posts are listed chronologically.

To use the Bulletin Board area, do any of the following:
  • To view the specific recipients of a post, rest your mouse pointer on the Share icon in the lower-left corner. A list of the recipients appears.
  • To delete a post, click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner. A list of options appears. Click Delete. The Remove Post confirmation window opens. To delete the post, click Delete. Otherwise, click Cancel. Only users with appropriate privileges or creators of the post can delete posts.
  • To pin or unpin a post from the top of the Bulletin Board area, click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner. A list of options appears. Click Pin or Unpin, depending on the current state of the post. The post is pinned to or unpinned from the top of the area. Only users with appropriate privileges can pin and unpin posts.
  • To change the recipients of a post, click the Share icon. The Set Post Visibility window opens. In the following fields, select or clear the check boxes for the desired recipients, and then click Set. Multiple recipients can be selected. Use the Search field to locate the recipient, or select the Select All check box to select all displayed recipients within that field.
    — Everybody check box: Shares the post with everyone. If this check box is selected, then the other fields are disabled.
    — Agencies: Shares the post to everyone in the specified agency.
    — Groups: Shares the post to everyone in the specified group. Your administrator creates the groups.
    — User Types: Shares the post to everyone with the specified user type. Your administrator sets the user type of each user.
    — User: Shares the post to the specified user.

NOTE: The Share icon for the post changes according to the type of recipients selected. If more than one type was selected, then the icon for the most general type is used. For example, if a user and an agency are selected, then the Share icon displays the agency symbol.

Only users with appropriate privileges or the creator of the post can change the recipients of the post.
