Adding a UCR Report

Use the Adding New UCR screen to add a new UCR record in Nova. The Adding New UCR Report screen contains applicable information for creating a new UCR record.


By creating a monthly reporting period, you start the process of submitting to the UCR program the information regarding the crime that occurred in your agency's jurisdiction. You can create a reporting period before the end of the reporting month to aid in the classification of crimes as they occur. However, you won't be able to finalize the report until after the end of the reporting month.

To add a UCR record:

  1. From the Nova Dashboard, click the UCR Reports option under the Reports drop-down menu.

  2. From the UCR Report Search screen, click the Add New button.

  3. The Adding New UCR Report screen appears. Enter the necessary information in the following areas:

  • Reporting Period

  • Prepared By

  1. When you have finished entering the necessary information, click the Save button.
