Adding a Property Custody Transaction

To add/update a Custody Transaction record in Nova:

  1. From the Nova Dashboard, click the Property option under the Records drop-down menu.

  2. From the Property Search screen, select the desired Property record. Note: The property must first be involved with an Incident concerning custody.                  

  3. Click the Start Custody Management or Active link.  The Adding New Custody Transaction screen appears.

  4. Enter the necessary information in the following areas: (Note: The amount of information required depends on your agency's standards.)

  • Event

  • When Occurred

  • Reason

  • Storage Location

  • Custodian

  • Released To/Received From

  1. When you have finished entering as much information as possible, click the Save button. By default, the Print Transaction Receipt check box is selected.

  2. The Print Transaction Receipt screen appears. You may click the Print button to print the transaction receipt, or click the Return button to return to the Property record.

Note: If you want to cancel adding a New Custody Transaction record at any point during the process, click the Cancel button.
