Release Notes for January 2020

The January 2020 release of the software contains the following notable features and fixes:

Engagements Module
  • The Engagement module can be used to track your interactions with people, allowing you to attach a Name record and fill in customizable fields like Force Used and Subject Condition.
  • Statistics can be generated around those customizable fields, compared against characteristics of the Name records involved with the Engagement.
Choose PTT Drop-down Order
  • By default, the PTT drop-down on the Dispatch page displays Contacts first and then Talkgroups. This new feature allows agencies to change it to display Talkgroups first and Contacts second, if desired.
Image Attachment Date Changes
  • Uploaded images will now no longer require data in the "Date Taken" field to save the record.
  • Certain image types do not contain information about the date they were taken, so Ally does not know when they were taken. Previously, Ally would assume images were taken the date that they were uploaded, but that is not always the case.
  • Now, if the image has "date taken" information, the field will automatically be filled in, the same way it always has. If the image does not contain "date taken" information, the field will be left blank.
Misc. Fixes and Changes
  • Places now display on CAD Calls; previously only the address would appear.
  • The Daily Log Area drop-down is now easier to use on mobile devices.
  • Business names of two or three characters will now appear in the Places drop-down when entering a Place in the address tool.
  • CAD Call Comments now wrap on printing of a call record, so comments should be fully visible and no longer cut off.
  • The "Image Email Default" option was not automatically selecting the checkbox on the End Shift modal. This has been resolved.
  • On statistics, decimals were showing at all times, even for records where decimals were impossible - so it would show 1.0, rather than 1, for example.  Decimals will now only display if necessary.
