Release Notes for September 2018

The September 2018 release of the software contains the following notable features and fixes:

Ally Push-to-Talk (PTT)
  • Ally now has PTT functionality available as an add-on feature
  • This feature provides dispatchers the capability to communicate directly from Ally to other dispatchers on Ally, officers on LTE devices, and select Motorola Solutions radios
  • For more information about enabling PTT functionality, please contact your sales rep
Phone Numbers Mask Removed
  • The phone numbers edit mask has been removed on all phone number fields
  • Previously, the mask forced phone numbers into the format of (xxx) xxx-xxxx, which is USA/Canada specific
  • Phone numbers can now be entered in a numerical free text field, and a country code can be added, if desired
  • If numbers are entered with 10 digits, with a country code of +1 (which is default and doesn't have to be typed), phone numbers will still display with the mask on View pages, making them easy to read on View pages and easy to enter on Edit pages
Adding Users to Groups
  • Groups has been improved so that administrators can more quickly find and add Users to the Group
  • Instead of pressing a plus sign to add a new Users one at a time, the entire Users section on Groups has been changed to a single multi-select drop-down list
  • This system is far more scalable and functional for agencies who edit their Groups frequently
Send Dispatch Notification
  • The dispatch notification email ("You've been dispatched...") now sends to all Personnel on a Unit, rather than just the Primary Personnel
New Fields in Dashboard Active Items
  • Two new fields have been added to the Dashboard Active Items:
  • Key - Displays the record key
  • Location - Shows the address of the record
Ally Header Color Update
  • UI changes will be slowly rolled out over the coming months
  • This header color update is the first of these changes, made to align Ally's look and feel with that of other Motorola Solutions products
CAD Header Cleanup
  • The CAD Header has been simplified
  • The word "View" has been removed from the left of the Dispatch and Calls tab
  • The Update Status and Add New Call buttons have been changed to icons to save space
Misc. Fixes and Changes
  • Fixed issue where Admins could not delete a Two-Factor code created by User
  • Resolved an issue where in certain circumstances, the Client filter on Shift View would not function
  • Found and fixed an issue where Addresse Notes could not be updated from the Call History edit page
  • List pages should load quicker on modules with a large number of records
