Unlocking a User Account

If a user enters the incorrect password too many times, then their account is locked and must be unlocked by an administrator.

To unlock an account for a user:
  1. Open the User record.
  2. Select Actions > Unlock Account. The Unlock Account window opens.
  3. Click Unlock Account. The user account is unlocked, and the user can attempt to log in again.

Resetting a password for a user

As an administrator, use the User screen to reset a password for a user.

To reset a password for a user:
  1. Open the User record.
  2. Select Actions > Reset Password. The Reset Password window opens.
  3. Enter the new password in both fields. 

    NOTE: The password is a temporary password. The user will be required to change their password when they log in.

  4. Click Reset Password. The password is reset.

Allowing users to reset their passwords

If desired, the software can be set up to allow users to reset their passwords from the login screen. Users must have a valid email address connected to their User record to reset their password. 

To allow a user to reset their password: 
  1. Open the User record.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. In the Administration area, select the Allow Forgot Password Resets check box
  4. Click Save. The user can click the Forgot Password link on the login screen and is prompted for their agency and username. An email is sent to the email address connected with the user, which contains a link to reset their password.
