Using Workflow

For Incident, Call for Service, Traffic Stop, and Arrest records, workflow can be used to track the status of the record.

To use workflow:
  1. Locate and open the record.
  2. Click the status link for the workflow. If workflow for the record has not been started, then the link is labeled Start Workflow. The Update Workflow Status window opens.
  3. Complete the fields as needed. See the section “Fields on the Update Workflow Status window” below.
  4. Click Update to update the workflow. Otherwise, click Cancel. The status of the workflow is displayed on the record. When a workflow is assigned to a user, it is displayed on their Dashboard screen, in the My Items area under the Workflow tab. Additionally, the user’s supervisor can view the workflow record on their Dashboard screen, in the My Supervisory Items area under the Workflow tab. 
  5. To view all workflow updates for the record, expand the Workflows section of the record.

Fields on the Update Workflow Status window

The Update Workflow Status window contains the following fields:
  • Assigned To: Select the officer assigned to the record for the status of the workflow. By default, your name is populated.
  • Status: Select the status of the workflow.
  • Due Date: Select the due date for the workflow task.
  • Priority: Select the priority of the task.
  • Comment: Enter any comments about the workflow.
  • Close Workflow on Update check box: Select this check box to close the workflow after the update. This check box is available only after the workflow is started.
  • Email Watchers on Update check box: Select this check box to automatically email watchers a copy of the report after the workflow update. This check box is available only after the workflow is started.
