Fields in the Identification Tab in the Business Screen

The Identification tab in the Adding New Business and Editing Business screens contains the following fields, which are separated by area.

Business area

Use the Business area to track basic information about the business.
  • Type: Select the type of business.
  • Name: Enter the name of the business.

Operational Information area

Use the Operational Information area to track when the business is open.
  • Status: Select the status of the business.
  • Start Date: Enter or select the month and year the business began operations.
  • End Date: Enter or select the month and year the business ended operations.
  • Hours of Operation: Enter any information about the hours the business is open.

Alternate Names area

Use the Alternate Names area to track other names used for the business.
  • Type: Select the type of alternate name.
  • Name: Enter the alternate name.

Addresses area

Use the Addresses area to track addresses associated with the business.
  • Address Type: Select the type of address. For example, mailing or business.
  • Primary check box: If the address is the primary address of the business, then select this check box.
  • Address: Enter the street address. See the article "Entering Addresses."
  • Address Directions/Notes: Enter any notes about the address. For example, directions or dangerous animals. This information is connected to the address, apart from the Business record.
  • Business Location Notes: Enter any notes about how the business is connected to the address. This information is connected to the Business record, not the address.

Phone Numbers area

Use the Phone Numbers area to track phone numbers associated with the business. See the article "Entering Phone Numbers."  

Websites area

Use the Websites area to track websites associated with the business.
  • Primary check box: If the website is the main website of the business, then select this check box.
  • URL: Enter the website address. For example, www.spillman.com.

Alerts area

Use the Alerts area to track alerts for the business.
  • Alert: Select the type of alert. Your administrator creates the types.
  • Level: Select the color for the alert. The higher the color is on the list, the higher the priority of the alert using that color. Your agency determines what the colors mean.

Quick Contacts area

Use the Quick Contacts area to track contacts for the business.
  • Type: Select the type of contact.
  • Last Name: Enter the last name of the contact.
  • First Name: Enter the first name of the contact.
  • Phone: Enter the phone number of the contact. See the article "Entering Phone Numbers."
  • Address: Enter the address of the contact. See the article "Entering Addresses."
  • Job Title: Enter the job title of the contact.
  • Schedule Notes: Enter any notes about the schedule of the contact. For example, the best time to contact them.

Local ID Numbers area

Use the Local ID Numbers area to track local identification numbers for the business.
  • Type: Select the type of identification number. Your administrator creates the types.
  • Number: Enter the identification number.
