Fields in the Traffic Stop Tab in the Traffic Stop Screen
Traffic Stop area
Use the Traffic Stop area to track basic information about the traffic stop.- Nature: Select the nature of the stop.
- Stop Disposition: Select the disposition of the stop.
- When Occurred: Enter or select the date and time the stop occurred. By default, the current date and time are populated.
- Search Performed: Select the type of search performed.
- Stop Duration: Enter the length of time of the stop.
- Client: Select the client associated with the stop.
- Link to Place check box: Select this check box to link the client selection to the place selected in the Street or Place Name field of the Address field. When the fields are linked, the Client field is populated based on the selected place. If the fields are not linked, then selecting a place has no effect on the Client field.
NOTE: Clients are connected to places by your administrator. - On Save and Close: Select the desired check boxes to perform certain actions when the Save and Close button is clicked. If the Add Contacts as Watchers check box is selected, then any contacts from Client or Site records associated with the record are added as watchers to the record. If the Email Watchers check box is selected, then any watchers are emailed the report.
Officers area
Use the Officers area to track the officers involved in the incident.- Responsible Officer: Select the name of the officer responsible for the incident.
- Responsible Agency: Select the agency responsible for the incident.
- Responding Officers: Select any additional officers who responded to the incident. Multiple officers can be selected.
Driver Bias Information area
Use the Driver Bias Information area to track information about the driver that might indicate a bias against them.- Race: Select the race of the driver.
- Ethnicity: Select the ethnicity of the driver.
- Sex: Select the sex of the driver.
- Age: Enter the age of the driver.
- Driver Race Known Prior to Stop: Select whether the race of the driver was known prior to the stop.
Use the Location area to track where the stop occurred.
- Address: Enter the street address. See the article "Entering Addresses."
- Address Directions/Notes: Enter any notes about the address. For example, directions or dangerous animals. This information is connected to the address, apart from the Traffic Stop record.
- Traffic Stop Location Notes: Enter any notes about how the stop is connected to the address. This information is connected to the Traffic Stop record, not the address.
- Area: Select the area where the stop occurred.
Use the Local ID Numbers area to track local identification numbers for the stop.
- Type: Select the type of identification number. Your administrator creates the types.
- Number: Enter the identification number.
Subjects area
Use the Subjects area to track the subjects associated with the stop.To add subject information, locate the record to link to the Traffic Stop record. See the article "Connecting Records." Complete the following fields:
- Subject Role: Select the role the subject played in the incident.
- Resident Status: Select the resident status of the individual.
- Under Influence Of: Select whether the subject was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Both check boxes can be selected.
Related Vehicles area
Use the Related Vehicles area to track information about the vehicles associated with the incident.To add vehicle information, locate the record to link to the Traffic Stop record. See the article "Connecting Records." Complete the following fields:
- Driver: Select the driver of the vehicle. The options available are based on the subjects with a role of Driver.
- Passengers: Select the passengers of the vehicle. Multiple passengers can be selected. The options available are based on the subjects with a role of Passenger.
- Circumstances: Select whether the vehicle is a commercial vehicle or carrying hazardous materials (hazmat). Both check boxes can be selected. Select any additional circumstances. Multiple circumstances can be selected.
- Actual Speed: Enter the actual speed of the vehicle.
- Posted Speed: Enter the posted speed limit.
- Safe Speed: Enter the safe speed for the conditions.
- Number of Lanes: Enter the number of lanes on the road.
- Direction: Select the direction the vehicle was travelling.
- Radar Used check box: Select this check box if a radar was used in the stop.
- Laser Used check box: Select this check box if a laser was used in the stop.
Use the Citations/Warnings area to track the citations or warnings given to subjects or vehicles associated with the stop. Citations and warnings can be added only if a subject or a vehicle is associated with the stop.
Citation Information area
Use the Citation Information area to track basic information about the citation.- Defendant: Select the name of the defendant. The options available are based on the subjects and vehicles entered in the Subjects and Related Vehicles areas.
- Citation Number: Enter the identifying number of the citation.
- Citation Type: Select the type of citation issued.
- Citation Class: Select the class of citation issued.
- When Occurred: Enter or select the date and time the citation occurred.
- When Issued: Enter or select the date and time the citation was issued.
- Citing Officer: Select the name of the officer who issued the citation.
- Agency: Select the agency responsible for the citation.
Court Information area
Use the Court Information area to track information about the court for the citation.- Court: Select the name of the court.
- Court Date: Enter or select the date the citation went to court.
- Court Number: Enter the identifying number of the court.
- Court Cost: Enter the cost of the court fees.
- Fine Amount: Enter the amount of the fine for the citation.
- Fine Paid Amount: Enter the amount of the fine that was paid.
- Fine Paid Date: Enter or select the date the fine was paid.
- Court Disposition: Select the court disposition of the citation.
