Fields in the Offender Tab in the Offender Screen

The Offender tab in the Adding New Offender and Editing Offender screens contains the following fields, which are separated by area.

Offender Details area

Use the Offender Details area to track basic information about the offender.
  • Type: Select the type of offender.
  • Tier: Select the tier of the offense, if applicable.
  • Start Date: Enter or select the date the offender was registered.
  • End Date: Enter or select the date the registration for the offender expires, or the date the offender no longer has to register.
  • Lifetime check box: If the offender is a lifetime offender and does not have an end date for registering, then select this check box. The End Date field is disabled.
  • Disposition: Select the disposition of the registration.
  • Reason: Select the reason the registration has a closed disposition, if applicable.
  • Compliance: Select whether the offender is compliant.
  • Status: Select the status of the offender that makes them non-compliant. Otherwise, select Verified to indicate that the offender has been verified as compliant.
  • Predator: Select whether the offender is a predator.
  • Repeat: Select whether the offender is a repeat offender.
  • Classification: Select the classification of the offender.

Offender area

Use the Offender area to track information about the offender.

To add offender information, locate the Name record to link to the Offender record. See the article "Connecting Records."

When a Name record is involved with an Offender record, an alert is automatically added to the Name record. The alert uses the value selected in the Type field.

Offense area

Use the Offense area to track the offense of the offender.
  • Other State check box: Select this check box to indicate that the offense occurred in another state. The Statute, Offense Code, and Court fields are changed to Text fields. 
  • Statute: Select the statute associated with the offense. By default, this field lists the statutes your administrator has added to the software. However, if the Other State check box is selected, then this field is changed to a Text field. Enter the statute.
  • Offense Code: Select the offense committed by the offender. By default, this field lists the offenses your administrator has added to the software. However, if the Other State check box is selected, then this field is changed to a Text field. Enter the offense.
  • Counts: Enter the number of counts for the offense.
  • Age at Time: Enter the age of the offender at the time the offense was committed.

Sentence area

Use the Sentence area to track the sentence of the offender.
  • Sentence Date: Enter or select the date the offender was sentenced.
  • Sentence: Enter the sentence length. For example, 6 months.
  • Incarcerated: Select whether the sentence included incarceration.
  • City: Enter the city where the sentence occurred.
  • County: Enter the county where the sentence occurred.
  • State: Select the state where the sentence occurred.
  • Court: Select the court that issued the sentence. By default, this field lists the courts your administrator has added to the software. However, if the Other State check box is selected, then this field is changed to a Text field. Enter the name of the court.
  • Court Case Number: Enter the court case number for the sentence.

Victims area

Use the Victims area to track the offender's victims.
  • Age: Enter the age of the victim.
  • Child check box: Select this check box if the victim was a child.
  • Sex: Select the sex of the victim.
  • Race: Select the race of the victim.
  • Ethnicity: Select the ethnicity of the victim.
  • Relationship to Offender: Enter the relationship of the victim to the offender.
  • Incest check box: Select this check box if the relationship of the victim to the offender indicates incest.
  • Place of Crime: Enter the place where the offender interacted with the victim.
  • Force Used: Select whether the offender used force on the victim.
  • Type of Force: Enter the type of force the offender used on the victim.

Local ID Numbers area

Use the Local ID Numbers area to track local identification numbers for the offender.
  • Type: Select the type of identification number. Your administrator creates the types.
  • Number: Enter the identification number.
