Using CAD Hotkeys

The keyboard can be used to complete CAD tasks. Using the keyboard can improve the speed of data entry, which can allow users to be more efficient.

The following sections explain the CAD hotkeys used in the software. 

NOTE: If the cursor is in a field, then the hotkeys do not work. Press the Esc key to remove the cursor from the field.

Hotkeys on the Dispatch screen

The following hotkeys can be used from the Dispatch screen:
  • C: Switch to the Calls screen.
  • U: Open the Update Status window, with the cursor in the Unit field.
  • Q: Open the Add a New Call (Quick Call) window, with the cursor in the Initial Comment field.
  • N: Switch to the Calls screen, and open a new call tab. This is the same as selecting Add New Call Call for Service.

Hotkeys on the Calls screen

The following hotkeys can be used from the Calls screen:
  • D: Switch to the Dispatch screen.
  • U: Open the Update Status window, with the cursor in the Unit field.
  • Q: Open the Add a New Call (Quick Call) window, with the cursor in the Initial Comment  field. 
  • N: Open a new call tab. This is the same as selecting Add New Call Call for Service.
  • S: Save the call. This does not close the call.
